    hey everyone,
my girlfriend is trying to get ready for this deer season, but we are having a problem sighting in her bow. the arrow no matter what hits just right of the X and no matter how far I am pushing the sight to the right it keeps hitting right. she is shooting a Diamond infinite edge at 40 pounds, with Beman ics patriot hunters spined at 400 with a 8.4 GPI, that are cut at 26 3/4 in.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

May need to move the rest to the left to correct your problem, very small increments at a time.

She is definitely over spines with those arrows. I'm shooting 66 pounds with 400 spine arrows at 27 inches and they tune great. And since her arrows are shorter they are inherently stiffer. Get her a 600 spine preferably or a 500

This^^^^ I set my girlfriend up and she is shooting 40# @ 25" with Beman ICS Bowhunter 500 spine cut at 26". They are spined great for her set up. IMO 400 spine is simply overspined for her set up.

I think the OP will see a marked improvement with a lighter spine set up.

It may be over spined but it's not terrible, but a little less spine may help but it may not. Some even prefer a little bit of an over spined arrow. You will usually see an under spined arrow effecting the flight rather than to stiff of an arrow. Don't go out and buy a half dozen of 500s and it expect it to fix your problem. You could test the over spined theory by cranking the bow to 65 or so and see if the arrow comes back left.

At that length 500 is over spined. Ideally it should be 600. However 400 is definitely very over spined.

If you think your over spined, and that is the cause of your issue...which btw I don't.

Add a another 50 grains up front to weaken the spine and see if that clears it up.

Lots of good statements here.My 2 cents is to make sure you are center shot from left to right.Hold bow like you re gna shoot it with an arrow on string, look up at cam or wheel and make sure it is perfectly straight from left to right. You should only be able to see the back side of cam. Then look at arrow and make sure it is perfectly straight. if not move rest accordingly.

I would be looking centershot on the bow and form on the shooter.

It would take a load of weight on the front of a 400 for it to spine. A 600 is where she needs them to be.

Thanks Guys. Not the news we wanted to hear especially sense the shop set her up with those arrows. We did fix the center shot but that didn't change anything really.

I have the same issue but I'm hitting left. I have moved my sight but I'm still hitting left I just started putting my pin little further to the right of the target it solved my problem. Must be the mechanics on the shooter.

I would start fresh with the bow. Check cam lean, timing, center shot, then spine her in a 500. After that she shouldn't have a problem, unless it is her form.

Look for a contact issue ....open your stance up and point your feet more at the target....bet it changes.

Just to clarify. Do the BH shoot to the right of the FP?

Or does she shoot fp to the right of the X and then you move the sight to the right and she shoots the fp to the right of the X again? If this is the case it is not the bow.
