I went through two years of bad knee pain. Finally had surgery in June. All was well, excited about getting back in the deer wood for some mental recovery. Then today, all that came to an end...
Twisted funny and blew out my knee once again. Dr thinks I need to go under the knife again for the second time in three months. Very stressed about another year on the couch instead of the tree stand.
Maybe I will finally be pain free for turkey season and beyond.

Wow I feel you literally. I had surgery on August 20th and I'm pushing hard to get the knee back in shape to climb a tree on September 13th.

Hey MOBU where are you located...I have several stands with very little walking involved, and some good deer on the trail cams. (I'm not selling anything just an offer to a fellow hunter) If you are interested.

A short distance ground blind would be great. Hopefully you can find an opportunity like that. Just remember to take care of yourself and listen to the doctors.

I am going to look at some good ground blinds tomorrow afternoon. I have a couple of crp fields and crop edges close to home where they would work great. Thanks to all of you for you words of incouragement.
I am glad every morning that I don't have it as bad as others.

What type of surgery did you have? I had knee surgery February 28th....and couldn't imagine going through it again so soon.

Arthroscopic to remove torn cartilage on the medial meniscus and clean up the cartilage on the ends of the bones as I put it off a little to long and caused collateral damage. Been improving daily but I'm not sure if I have the flexibility to climb yet.

So they removed it l, not repaired it?

They told me there were 2 types, remove or repair....mine was repair. And it was months before I felt like I could even walk through the uneven woods....let alone climb.

Yes they removed all the torn cartilage and cleaned all the shredded stuff on the end of the bones. I wasn't given repair as an option. I definitely won't be 100% by opening day but I feel fairly comfortable walking in the woods with a brace for support. I'm most concerned about the lack of flexibility because I still have swelling that is impeding flexibility.

Don't over do it too quickly, I almost messed up trying to hobble to a turkey blind.
