So how much does a bow lose in value in the first year?
    Say a 14 in 2014?

Your average $900-$950 premium brand flagship bow is gonna be worth $550-$650 from the second it walks out the shop door and for the first 6-12 months after. It will depend on brand, color, etc as to the final value.

If you have a flagship bow with top of the line accessories you'll get 900-1200 for it if you sell it. That sucks cause you probably have $1700 to $1800 into it. I'm left handed and I upgrade every year as soon as season ends here in Wisconsin. I usually sell my bow without arrows or a release for $1000 or more.

Walking out the door with a new bow is about as bad as driving a new pick up off the lot.

When i buy a new bow im in for the long haul i never look at the resale value. I might sell 8 or 9 years down the road maybe. But you pay for the years of warranty for parts and service for life and some times when you use it , It really pays off. On a used bow it has to be a killer low price for me to want to pick it up, So when something breaks its not such a big deal buying parts.
