These are my first pics from two cams I set out here in Minnesota. The cams are on the same piece of public land but were about 300 yards apart, separated by a two lane road. There's always year round sign in this spot but last season the deer didn't move until after dark due to hunt pressure from me and others. I run into a guy there often, he lives near there and he's been telling me for two years about how he's been chasing this "big 8" in the area, I think it may be the bigger rack I caught on film. Now that I have proof of a respectable rack in there, my next goal is to move my cams strategically over the next month and get closer to his bedding area and hang a stand. I'm also thinking about putting a cam on a mock scrape dripper and see if I can alter his pattern to a place of my choosing, you know, somewhere private to slide my 450gr Maxima into his ribs
I have my cams about 12 feet in the air aimed down, lock boxed and cabled to the tree to deter theft and vandalism since they're out in public land.
As a fellow MN public land deer hunting let me say "good luck"! That looks like a nice deer, hopefully he makes a few mistakes for ya!
