Hey guys, Evilstuff Checking in. I Live in Grand Rapids, but hunt in Ionia County. We are heading to the farm either this sunday or next. Can't wait.
I will be in Charlevoix, Oakland, and Barry County this year. Should be a good year since this is my first with multiple hunt spots.
Eric West checking in live and hunt in Ingham County, getting some good trail cam pics so hopefully it turns out to be a good year for un Michiganders.
I will be hunting around Proud Lake Recreation, Buddies parents have property that backs up to a secluded state land spot and we have caught some good bucks on cam there. We are closing on the property in September, Hopefully in enough time to hang stands and cams.
My oldest daughter was born in Oakland County, Commerce to be exact. We had a house that backed up to the Highland Recreation Area, I think it was 10,000 acres plus. Pretty nice area.
Yup just like Ty said and you will be good. Might not be able to do a whole lot this year but just use it as a learning year and set everything up for the kill next year.
Know the highland rec area pretty good thats where my dad grew up. I seen that picture of the buck on MIbuckpole, not sure if its bogus or not cause a few people said they have seen that same picture posted hit in other states
Just Passin thru checking in. I live in Macomb but hunt St. Clair County. Nothing but 1 1/2 year olds on camera so far this summer, had a few that looked to be off to a good start but disappeared at the end of May and I haven't seen them since. The bucks started showing back up in early September last year so hopefully its the same way this year.
What kind of Mineral Sites do you guys have going where you hunt? Do you use blocks, or stump method? Headed out to new property this weekend and wanted to possibly set one up just off the beaten path.
We have yet to put camera's in our woods.. If we get time, we will set them up Sunday. We use Monster Raxx as well as a trophy rock, seams to draw them in for some great pictures. We have also used Deer Cane for years before Tom got us (and our deer) hooked on Monster Raxx. We still have some liquid and powder and will mix some in from time to time.
