I posted last week I was possibly getting a new horse. Some asked if I'd share pictures when I got him...well, here he is! His name is Soldier, though I feel like changing it...it doesn't fit! And my other horse, enjoying scratches.
Looks like a stud colt! Grew up with horses and have always wanted one, just don't have the time or money
I have spent some big $ on horses since I got married, I don't ride. It does allow me to spend what I want on bowhunting without a word of complaint.
Thank you everyone. He is a registered Quarter Horse! Definately enjoy horses. I have four all together - but the two above are just mine. They are time consuming, I took a little break - but getting back into it. It is worth it though. This guy does pretty much everything! N0 6 - He was a late gelding. Didn't get gelded until 5, so that is where he gets his "studly" appearance!
Nice horse. I use to have a Paso Fino when I was in the service... love horses! So Soldier doesn't fit huh? How about Sarge?
I think Im just going to keep Soldier and call him Sol for short. He really is listening to his name when being called in to the barn. Paso fino's are so petite! I've never rode one but they look so comfy!
We used to own quarter horses, a few years ago we finally got rid of the last one - curly, my buddy. We used to team pen and cutting. I do miss it but real life got in the way I guess.
Life does get in the way. I got married last year, bought a house earlier this year. We race dirt cars on Friday's. It's hectic. But honestly, I wouldn't change it. Some day, you never know, you may just get back into it! Team penning is very fun to watch, though one event I've never tried.
My wife has a great horse, he would be great for mountain hunting for elk, you can even shoot a gun from the saddle.......Once
