Please don't mention wine in my thread. I think that beverage has been banned. We are talking about grapes here. I like merlot grapes.
Well in that case... I like most any, but I have fox grapes here at home... but every year, for the past few years as soon as it is time for them to turn ripe, they shrivel up and die... I'm sure it's some sort of blight or something, just haven't looked into it. Cheese grapes and sour grapes are becoming much more popular though...
You? We are talking about grapes. Have something to add? Aaron, what are fox grapes? We have wild grape vines but they seldom produce much in the way of fruit. They do choke out some nice trees though. I have to keep them trimmed off the good walnut trees.
Yes, seedless versions have been developed but most don't have quite the same floral aroma and flavor that made the variety famous.
My father has planted about five different varieties of muscadines on our property, I don't know the names of them but they range from bronze colored to dark purple depending on the variety. He uses them to make a drink we can't talk about on here.
I have some grpae vines that grow along some of our fence and stone work, no idea what variety they are though. Think they are the box kind.
My Grandfather planted some grapes along the fence line. They big purple ones, with a huge seed in the middle. Never had many, but he does get some. It's just easier buying a bag when they're on sale at the grocery. I prefer a seedless nonsour grape.
