I swear our one plot (2 acre) just keeps regenerating rocks. It's unreal how many are there. We have spent about 12 hours with 4-6 people picking rocks and if I took you there you would never think anyone even touched it. There are literally thousands of rocks and each pass of the disc seems to dig up more. Any ideas besides spending 5 grand on a rock picker??
You could hire it out. Myself, I'd probably look into some type of grapple/rock bucket for the tractor. I try to never miss out on an opportunity to pick up another implement. Especially one that has many different uses.
Rock picker (machine) is worthless unless they are large rocks - don't waste your money on renting one. Hire local kids. Just be glad you don't have 2000 acres to pick!
It is called minimum tillage or no til planting. Many crop farmers turned to this for this reason as well as other reasons. You really don't need to drop a disk that deep. Consider planting daikon radish to loosen the soil up, thusly reducing deeper tillage.
We don't disc deeply.........just dragging an old disc under its own weight behind my Kubota UTV. The problem is we turned all the ground initially a few years back with a 2 bottom plow which brought up every rock on earth it seems. Not much we can do now that they are disturbed but remove them.
