My fiancée and I went up to my family farm in southern Ohio over the 4th. While I was spending time with family I was able to snap a couple shots of the deer that were taken over the years. All are beautiful deer but one is an absolute stud of an 8 point. This is the 8 point. He scored 156" I wish the picture did the mass justice, the browtines were thicker than my bucks main beams that I killed this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here's my other cousins bucks. The left mount is an Ohio big buck at 141" and the right buck is a 136" 8 point with a 21" spread. Some bucks that were hit by cars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Better believe that! It's to early to tell but there's a couple 140s (possibly more) being spotted in the bean fields around. Can't wait to see what this season will produce! Sadly I probably wont be able to hunt this year at that farm. Between getting married the end of October and being a full time student and working full time, I rarely have time to sleep, let alone hunt in Ohio. I'll hopefully sneak out a couple weekends on my farm in NC tho. It'll be an interesting season! Hopefully the family up there can find atleast one wall hanger during season. I, myself, will be after the same "super-six" I was after last year here at the home farm.
I live in Southern Ohio and I can attest to the brutes we have here. I killed one two years ago that was a typical 8 that scored a 155. My buddy has gone 181 and 197 the last two years, and another family friend killed a 160 with a drop tine last year. There are a ton of great places to hunt and an absurd amount of big deer in Ohio. Definitely blessed to live here. Hope you can get up here and hunt with your family this season and get a big one on the ground!
I hunt Ross County. Private land. I just got married and moved to Columbus though so my commute just got longer and my time hunting probably just got shorter. Haha.
Congrats on the marriage bummer on less time to hunt haha. My family is from Londonderry, Ohio. So i'm sure you're familiar with that town if you hunt Ross County. I hunt Vinton County. Not to far from the Ross/Vinton County line.
