So out in the woods many of us come across snakes. Do you kill them or let them go? If it's venomous I kill them if not I let them move along.

    Why kill the venomous?

I actually breed snakes and love hunting for them...with my camera.

I'll never say specifically...all I'm going to say is I practice predator management and I like my quail.

If they startle me I usually cuss a lot. Especially those copperheads, so hard to see...

If hunting I just walk around them. If around my home I put them in a box and move them to the woods.

Believe it or not in 58 years of running the woods and forests of the east US I have never walked up on a venomous snake. I've had quite a few black snake scare the bejeezus out of me though. I would kill a rattler, copperhead or cotton mouth. I don't have a fear of snakes but I don't want anyone else to get bit either.

That's pretty crazy not coming across any. I come across rattlers a lot but they are usually chipped and endangered so when I come across a copper head or cottonmouth I take them out. Too many here for my likings. I usually come across 10-15 during the summer months while getting ready for the season

I don't mind them and just let them be. If the wife finds them in the yard (she hates them) I have to pick them up and throw them in the neighbers yard before she goes after them with a shovel.

I just breed corn snakes and kingsnakes. I have about 30 adults right now. Here is a 6+ foot black rat snake that I found at work last week!

I use to kill every snake a came across. Now days I look at them for a few minutes an walk around them. No need in killing them.

Timber rattlers and copperheads die on spot. Too many close calls. All other snakes don't bother me in the least and they go free
