Black bear bait

    All right,

    started my bear bait 6 days ago and got my first visitors today...

    Looks like two, maybe 3 different ones.

    That a beaver hanging?? That's the best bait to hang for bears....according to the outfitter we used in SK years ago. I believe him!!

    Yep, got lucky enough to talk with a trapper last fall and he gave me a dozen beaver carcasses.

    The bears go for them right away.

    Rest of the bait I uses moose scraps from last October that I kept in a freezer.

    It's done...

    Shot a big male (215lbs) Wednesday evening with my Bear Anarchy from a ground blind 18 yards away.

    Here's the pics...

    First one is a snapshot a split second before the shot.

    Me with the bear. ( I know I look silly with the orange vest and the mosquito net, but local regulations for the vest and hordes of mosquitos make both mandatory...)
