http://m.kcci.com/news/former-hawkeye-player-chased-on-scooter-tazed/25955380#.U3KsnTOHc_w.facebook Never liked the guy going through school with him. Now he's just a joke. Only getting charged with public intox and interfering with official acts. His lawyer expects everything to be dropped. Unbelievable. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
What a zero. Happens a lot with smaller town athletes who make it to the pros. Think they are owed something.
Perhaps if he had been an inner city black man, or a former Cincinnati "Bengal" this would be considered a normal NFL post game activity, and not really news worthy at all.
Its local news and the fact that he is from a medium-small town in the Bible belt makes his actions newsworthy here in Iowa.
Yes he played in the NFL and yes he got drunk in iowa. Not the problem. The problem is that he has no regards for the law. Now he's fighting to get all charges removed. He should be getting charged with an owi and resisting arrest. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
Not quite sure who would think of him as a hero. Anyways I love "getting handcuffs on" in the article. Wonder why the giants cut him, you can only live in the glory of your younger days before it wears off.
Yea, what a ****! He's really trying to get charges dropped? Who'd a thunk it? What the hell is he thinking? Any one tell you people in Iowa about the moon? Its full tonight! But DON"T LOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The whole town has viewed him as a hero since he went pro. Apparently he was cut due to having to many concussions. Not completely sure though since I've also heard he got released for taking PEDs. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
Really? It's the fact that he feels he can do whatever he wants with no consequences. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
I was really expecting some article about someone doing something heroic, like oh a former pro player who was homeless who saved a cat from a burning house. Then I read your article and was really disappointed. I grew up in a small town(probably big compared to yours, but small by my standards) and been years since I been back, but I certainly wouldn't call someone a hero just for getting into the pros. Sure it's a great feat, but nothing "heroic", just my opinion. If he had been like The Rock and given back to his community through youth programs or generous donations, I could see that. But judging by that story, I doubt he did any of that.
Ive never met this John Galt guy, but ive had a few run ins with him on here and quite honestly, I don't think very highly of him.
From playing in the NFL to riding around on a scooter in Iowa drunk and getting tased by the police. Great.
It Kind of seems like your hero bar isn't set very high, even for Iowa standards, you guys have found out about microwave popcorn by now haven't you?
