I am curious if anyone has shot the PSE Tidal Wave bowfishing rig yet? I was looking at it today at BPS and think that I might actually pick one up this spring. I have been wanting to get into bowfishing for a few years now and this seems to be a good bow and fully setup. Any input would be appreciated!
The tidal wave sports PSEs Hypermax cam which is a very fast dual cam system. As far as speed goes they are the fastest bowfishing bow on the market, which means you can shoot less weight with equal results or really lay the smackdown on some deep water carp or long range shots! I owned a PSE discovery 2 which is the Tidal Wave's little brother and it was a great bow, always shot well for me. they are nice bows and the Tidal Wave is a huge step in the right direction for PSE. As far as the setup goes, the arrow rest provided is the best out there IMO. The AMS reels are reliable and durable and are a good safe way to start. Bowfishing is about as addicting as it gets, call me crazy but i sat in my cold treestand this winter and daydreamed of shooting carp.... Ask Richie or Pearce and they will tell ya what its like to get into some fast action Illinois river carp! Talk to Pete next time you are in Buck Stop about the Tidal Wave, he can order one for you! id be happy to help you get it tuned up for the spring
Funny I was actually at Buck Stop this morning but we didn't talk about this. I will talk to him about it next time I go.
Do you guys suggest ordering an extra arrow or two right away also? Would hate to be somewhere bowfishing and break one without a spare.
I always have a couple extra in the toolbox in my truck, just in case. I'm usually bowfishing from 10 pm to 4 or 5 am ish, so I can't just run into town and get another usually.
If you get the package deal it comes with an extra arrow. I haven't needed another arrow in two seasons though those things are pretty tough. They are a great way to get to shoot in the summer though and a blast. I bought a little boat to go on the river just to use it more.
Yea extra arrows are a must have! I have probably 6-8 with a variety of tips for targeting different species. My favorites are the Cajun Piranha Long Barb, AMS Chaos XL, and Innerloc Grapple. You will break nocks so its nice to have extra arrows to tie on and keep shooting!
I just ordered 2 arrows with the AMS Chaos XL tip yesterday. Just waiting on a good deal for an AMS retriever pro.
Glad to know it comes with an extra I didn't realize that. Think I will order one more just to have. Sent from my BNTV600 using Tapatalk
Im excited to see these points... American made by great people over at AMS. When you get them, put them in a vice and pinch the barbs a little closer to the shaft. This will make a smaller entry hole for more holding power and penetration.
My only complaint was that it makes your fingers sore after awhile and I don't have sights on mine so it took a bit before we got very accurate. But sure is a lot of fun.
I'll have to look into that Nick. I didn't realize how sore they were until the next day. I'll look into Silicon Fuel Line
Nick what about putting on the Finger Savers by Pine Ridge Archery? Could you install those for me if I get them?
Alright got it ordered! Should have it in a few days! Can't wait! Sent from my BNTV600 using Tapatalk
