Hi all, I've been using Rage Crossbow X 100 grain mechanicals with very good results on my Horton Brotherhood (160 lbs Draw). I'm using them on 20" Carbon Express Pile Drivers. What I was wanting to know is how you guys can tell what grain weight you need. How do you figure that out? I went with the 100 grain just because the guy at Academy told me that's what I needed when I told him about my crossbow. It's working well so I'm not trying to fix it, I'd just like to know how you figure it out in the first place. Thanks! -Chubber Beaver Lake Lodge - Fishing, Golfing, Fun and More!
not sure on how you know for sure, but my wife shoots 100gr 3-bladed rage out of her pro slider, made by ten point, on a 20in alum 2219 shaft. with 4in white feathers, i limit her shots to 30yds......russ
My understanding is this. The total weight of the arrow must be defined in your setup. So, if you want a 425gr arrow and you have a 325gr arrow a 100gr broadhead should be used. If you want more, it may slow you down, and may change POI(point of impact) but might also help the inertia and Foot pounds with a heavier weight. That of course is my understanding.
