    Hi all,
I've been using Rage Crossbow X 100 grain mechanicals with very good results on my Horton Brotherhood (160 lbs Draw). I'm using them on 20" Carbon Express Pile Drivers. What I was wanting to know is how you guys can tell what grain weight you need. How do you figure that out? I went with the 100 grain just because the guy at Academy told me that's what I needed when I told him about my crossbow. It's working well so I'm not trying to fix it, I'd just like to know how you figure it out in the first place. Thanks! -Chubber

I use 125 grain. It is what the Barnett website recommended for my crossbow.

    My understanding is this.

The total weight of the arrow must be defined in your setup.

So, if you want a 425gr arrow and you have a 325gr arrow a 100gr broadhead should be used.

If you want more, it may slow you down, and may change POI(point of impact) but might also help the inertia and Foot pounds with a heavier weight.

That of course is my understanding.
