Looking into building some of these. I have built some before but never really liked the ones I did make. I know some of you guys make them and see them in trail cam pics but if you could explain how you made it and possibly a pic if you can. Thanks!
I have a "purchased" wild game innovations feeder that has worked flawlessly but decided I wanted a second one & was too cheap to fork over another hundred bucks so I started doing some research on homemade feeders to save a few bucks. I ended up buying a moultrie "feeder head" ($29) & mounted it on the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket that I spray painted camo green. The area i hung it is only 25 minutes from my house so I wasn't concerned about frequently filling it. I had it set to go off once a day for 10 seconds & the 5 gallon bucket if corn lasted 9-10 days. I will be building another "large" one next spring where I will mount it to the bottom of a 50 gallon drum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've seen on other forums where people have made them using 4" PVC pipe with a 3 way 45 degree splitter at the bottom for the feeding point Instructions PVC Chicken Feeder
I bet you can find it online somewhere. Check ehow or wikihow. I have never checked so I dont really know. I hope you can find what your looking for.
That was the best image I found with a search, but same concept for deer. Maybe step it up to 6" but a deers snout is pretty slender
Only concern about this type of feeder is when it rains and water goes right in the opening? Drill holes in the bottom?
I know right!?! Either im not seeing something or this guy uses a bear as deer bait And I dont know if that is legal. Lol
