My story to how I got started is here: http://forums.bowhunting.com/bowhunting-talk/55601-my-story-bowhunting.html

That was last year, and I had NO CLUE wtf I was doing. This year I was more knowledgeable, prepared and confident in myself to get the job done. I hit him in the heart and clipped the lungs (much better then a jugular shot like last year) He went about 25 yards and bedded down and passed almost instantly.

You have to start somewhere! I watched him walk in and check his scrape 30 yards out from me. The "buck fever" is unreal and something you cannot explain unless you experience it. Not bad for my second deer! I received a lot of meat and that will be great to help feed the family this winter!

    Congrats on your first buck!

You'll continue to become a better hunter and this will hopefully be your first of many.

I forgot to mention, draggin a deer out of the woods is no fun at all. Do they make something to make dragging these things easier? it was tough dragging this beast out. I mean I am 6'2 230lbs and I workout daily, but damn!!! I thought I was going to have a heart attack haha
