Hey everyone, Im going to switch to a single pin sight after the season is over here in MN. Im looking at getting the Hogg Father. Has anyone used one for hunting? How do you like it? Any feedback is great thanks!

Great sight, used it for about a season. It's precise and extremely sturdy built. The only two negatives I can see is the weight and the price. The price is relative as the quality is very high, however the weight was enough of an issue to cause me to replace it with an CBE.

I agree with the above stated. The weight of the product is almost unruly. However, the quality of it is amazing. Tough as nails and very accurate. The price is salty at best.

I use the Hogg Father and I love it! It took a little getting used to. If you get one don't fight with it, like I did. Take your time and pull that sucker in where you're comfortable

Your next best shot IMO is the Optimizer from HHA. Very good sight and about half the price. Excellent platform to work from.

The wife has the optimizer and she lover that sucker!

Hope this helps and good luck on your journey.

Great bow site. I've used it for one season so far and spring turkey. If you take the times to site it in correctly it can will be extremely accurate for you. I have the .10 single pin and now that I'm hunting with it I wish I would of bought the .19 pin instead. Spot hogg is a great company too, with great customer service.

I love it, best gear decision I ever made. Can't go wrong with a spothogg. I actually love the extra weight.

I've put two deer down this year so far with it and it has performed flawlessly.

I have heard they use to not come with the yardage tape in the past...is this true? Does it now come with them? I am seriously considering the same sight after the season, but in the 3 pin.

I shot one on another bow and it is made nice but I did not like it. I still like my HHA way better.

Ive also been looking at the Tommy hogg. Ive never shot a sight with a dove tail before but have read how it can help improve your accuracy. Can anybody attest to this?

You have to build your own sight tape based upon your setup...with software. Dig and you will have the answers.

Attest to...SsssWACK Bra- yes I can testify @ 70 yards.

Software and site tape just like batteries, sold separately.

    Good luck!

I know this thread is a little old, but I just ordered a Tommy Hogg single pin directly from Spot Hogg (military discount put it at $167.25) and Darren said they come with the site tapes now. You can probably get tapes directly from Spot Hogg now if you want.
