So, apparently I'm a lil kid when it comes to being cold and keeping hands warm. I absolutely love my Muck boots and my off-brand Jacket/Pants from Fleet Farm... can't find a pair of gloves that will keep my hands warm. Any suggestions? Thanks! Not sure if it matters, I both bow and gun hunt and live in Wisconsin.... cold. all. the. time.
I absolutely agree with the cabelas hand muff. I got one recently and it's great. The lowest temp I have tried it with was about 30 degrees but even at that I don't need gloves inside the muff. I'm sure if the hand warmers would make it even better.
Well... If your hands are so cold you can't type, put your gloves back on to start haha. I have the same problem in the very cold. Found a great pair of gloves at Gander Mtn. Still cold after that, hand warmers in the gloves. Done.
Hand Warmers in your pockets and keep your hands in your pockets works well for me I usually don't do that til it's under 30. Thought about getting one of those muff things for December when it's super chilly.
I vote for hand muff with one of those giant sized warmers in it when it's too cold for gloves to cut it.
This may sound crazy but try it....I wear mid weight pair gloves of all year long...when it gets colder I wear a pair of non powdered latex gloves under them....keeps the heat in great....if its frigid temps you can still throw a hand warmer in ure pockets for a quick warm up.....I do this so I still have full access to my bag zippers and items without the bulk of a heavy glove....works great...never have to take off my gloves to do anything I may need to do in the woods either Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Definitely the Cabela's hand muff. It keeps your hands nice and toasty plus when you see a deer you can pull your hands out and not worry about sticking gloves in a pocket since the muff has a strap on it that you can put around your waste. Also, my phone fits perfect in the pocket on the front it which is pretty convenient. Cabela's MT050® Extreme II Handwarmer Muff : Cabela's
I have a sitka muff and it is outstanding. 700 fill goose down will keep things toasty warm. Not cheap but really, if you are not comfortable and warm then you wont be successful if a deer comes by...or you'll quit early. T
What a great idea about the latex gloves. Considering how much your hands sweat in them in the summer
I wear light weight scent blocker brand gloves and like how thin they are because of the feel...but they aren't warm. I have the Hunter Safety System muff and keep a hand warmer in there. It works great, and has lots of pockets and pouches to keep gear in.
Stop...texting...from...tree... Naw just kidding. I text from the tree too. You may want to check out one of these if your thinking about getting a muff. For me they are overkill but you may like them. http://www.textpac.com/hot-shot-classic-textpac.html
Yep, hand muff and handwarmers. Also knit wool style gloves help, just get with the rubber grippers on them.
I love my Cabelas MT050 Glommits. LOVE them. In general when bow hunting, I'll wear that on my bow hand and a lighter glove on my release hand and keep that hand in my jacket pocket. When gun hunting its glommits all the way. I get the latex glove thing but would think that moisture would build up in there over the course of an hour or so, and eventually be wet, which = cold.
I wear mid-weight gloves and Scentlock Fullseason bibs. When my hands get cold, I just slip then inside my bibs.
I use a pair of mittens, with the individual fingers inside, with the tips cut off. The mitten part folds back so that I can get my fingers out to do things, like nock an arrow or shoot. Mittens keep your hands warmer in the first place, and when it is really cold I put a handwarmer in each of the mittens.
