I had 2 Beautiful home grown right here in my back yard Ribeye Steaks laid out for this evening(we're down to 3 packs and beefing another cow this November).... I'm off doing my on thing and went into the kitchen to check on them, as It was nearing grilling time. To my surprise... I find my 2 ribeyes in a frying pan! On the stove eye! After she finished defrosting them in the microwave!!!!!!! AHHHH! Could this be grounds for divorce?
I told her how I felt about the situation.... She simply told me to shut up and eat and pulled "there are starving kids in Africa card" Hard to win that one.
My wife knows better than to ever cook a steak in my house .....EVER! That being said, a pan seared steak if cooked correctly can be quite delicious .... now the microwave deal is a no no ....
Your response" even the starving kids in Africa know how to not ruin a steak, do you ever see them frying a zebra steak on a pan... NO! They cook it over a flame, like god intended."
I might be able to live with the pan frying part even though I much prefer to grill a steak...but microwaving them is inexcusable!
My wife will only succumb to this tactic if she has asked me to grill them and I am caught up into my bow hunting stuff or not home in time.
1) ribeyes in a cast iron skillet are the best way to cook them (followed by finishing them in the oven), although you said "frying pan", so I don't know if it was cast iron 2) divorce her now for letting a steak come within 10 ft of a microwave 3) divorce her for pulling the "children are starving in Africa"
Any steak with a 1" or greater thicknees to it should be pan seared and finished with indirect heat. I've explained this to my GF a bazillion times and she has yet to grasp it.
I'm still not over it... but trying to cope. I honestly thought she did know better.... but she does now.
