A thread to share info, trail cam photos, harvest pictures, questions, or anything else about hunting in the great buckeye state. Good luck this season to everybody September 28th is just around the corner time to arrow some big boys
Alright I'll get this started with a couple questions... Are your bucks starting to change patterns? How's your acorn crop? Are your bucks goin hard bone or are the majority in velvet still? Just over 20 days till we can put some deer in the dirt. Also what do you guys think about the new bag limit set up... The county where I do 98% of my whitetail hunting used to be a 5 doe 1 buck county know it's a 2 doe 1 buck zone which is really putting a crunch on us cause we all normally tagged out on 6 deer so now we're thinking about looking for a spot in Vinton which is just another county over to give a chance to kill 7 deer this year, Let's here some opinions
Trail cam pic. 2 trail cam pic. I know my times are off on am and pm. Buck in full velvet was taken on Friday and the one without was taken 2 days before. Camera has only been up 1 week before I got these to pic.
I love those crooked brow tines on that day light buck... i'm hoping to get down to Gallia co. this weekend to pull cards. Where do you hunt if you don't mind me asking? these guys are my top 2 on cam for this year.
I'll be hunting mostly in Muskingum Co. But will also spend some stand time in Licking and Washington Counties. Good luck this season.
Here are a few that have been seen where I will be in Muskingum Co. Hoping to get a closer look at one of them in a couple weeks.
I have not collected one buck picture. But hundreds of does...ill take does any day. With any luck the bucks will move in come rut with all the female activity going on there.
The spot where ive gotten pics of my better bucks I have only gotten a pic of 1 doe. Then I put my other camera bout 1/4 mile down the trail into the timber and had quite a few does. If there are does the bucks will come lookin for some lovin. Good luck bud.
Also I see your new here I would like to say welcome to the site I'm fairly new here to but the guys on here are willing to help and really know they're stuff.
yeah they definitely aren't helping the itch... and the cooler temps allowed me to be able to comfortably practice in my gear which is always a plus
It was definitly hunting weather here in Western Ohio. Can't wait for opening morning and we finally got some rain this past week.
