I was curious if anyone here can tell me if there montecs fly like field tips, I haven't had a chance to broadhead tune my bow yet.
Exactly the same. But a bow is tuned correctly, any broadhead that is on a shaft true then will shoot the same.
One of the bow magazines did a broadhead test last month, they compared penetration, sharpness, toughness, and how well they flew. The bow was profesionally tuned by Lancster archery and the arrows were shot out of a machine. The broadheads did NOT hit the same as the field points. some were really close, some were way off. This test puts to rest the myth that a tuned bow will shoot all arrows to the same point of aim. You must see how they fly by shooting them yourself.
I shoot the Montecs and for me they shot exactly the same as my field tips. Best fixed blade I have shot. I did no tuning as far as broad head tuning.
Since i got my bow properly tuned my muzzys and montects fly exactly the same as my field points, even shooting long distances for fun out to 80 yards+
I finally had some to check them to my FT and they where off about 6" @ 20yds (low), but perfect windage. I simply adjusted my rest (lower nocking point) and it took a matter of minutes. Now they are dead on @20 yds, almost busted a shaft!
When I shot CE Maxima Hunters they did not hit the same place but when I switched to CE REDS this year they now hit the same place and I did no tuning with the bow between the two shafts.
