Anyone done one of these before? I decided to listen to the crazy in my head and we are putting a team together for the Tough Mudder in NC in November. It helped that the cutie from Hibbet's Sports wanted to put a team together for this, although I don't think a Tough Mudder is worth trying to impress a girl! LOL Training starts today, quit drinking and smoking this weekend. Luckily the months in the gym have jumped the strength up, just have to concentrate on a lot of carido now too.

I ran in a local Mud Run which is a tame version of the Tough Mudder. I had fun with it. I have a buddy that's done it a couple times. I'd like to do one eventually.

I will say I'm not looking forward to the Electroshock Therapy obstacle, apparently it's the last one at every Tough Mudder. I am hoping they choose not to use the tunnels to crawl through for this one, I'm not a fan of enclosed spaces. Thankfully I have a few months to continue to whip my rear into shape, we may end up doing the Warrior Dash in TN in October as well.

I did the Spartan Race 3 weeks ago or so. Supposedly that is harder than the Tough Mudder, but I haven't done the Tough Mudder to vouge for that. Doing an obstacle race is definitely the way to impress a girl, easily. You don't have to quit drinking or smoking, I sure drink myself under the table still and I'm running the 9 mile Spartan race in September. I would suggest quitting smoking anyway. You might become addicted. After my first one I have been running normal 5Ks every weekend and train for the next Spartan Race coming up. To work on your cardio just go run, start out slow doing a run/walk/run pattern if you cant run straight through. Eventually you will get up to the point of being able to run a whole race. I run 5 miles everyday and workout for about an hour. This has taken me a few months to be good enough where I'm not exhausted or light-headed, but you'll get there. When you do your strength training, focus more on functional strength, machines are for pussies, functional strength is more practical, free weights and balance activities are a must. If you need more guidance let me know.

    LOL GAB!

dgable, honestly I'm doing the Mudder to prove a point to myself. I'm 37 now, no longer Infantry but a pilot so Im used to an easier way of life with work. I used to run cross country and 10 milers back in the day, so I'll be able to get back to it. I don't want to overdo the running and burn off the muscle I'm building in the gym, just have to balance it out. As for the drinking and smoking, trainer laid that ultimatum down. He's on the team as well. I have been smoking for too long so it needs to go anyways, and I don't drink much to begin with. Now.....if it happens to impress said cutie, then that's a bonus!

I have done one. I messed with the people at the different stations. I would ask them where the hand rails were and stuff like that. Most laughed, one didn't.

Yup Lastone, on top of what I already do for a workout routine at Gold's with the trainer (buddy of mine) going to be adding in more pull-ups for each day. I just have to get up super early to run before work so I have time for the gym after work, will be worth it though.

Did one this June. Except for the ungodly heat and humidity, it was relatively easy. Be able to pull up your own weight and run 5 miles straight, and you should be good to go. Here's my video I made to give you an idea (sorry about the length).

Sweet video Matt! Yup, looks like I will be adding in a lot more pull ups into my workouts on top of more running also! I'm not looking forward to getting the piss shocked out of me, oh well. Any suggestions as in socks or no socks? Ah and apparently the chic has a bf and two kids.....so now my goal is to just kick this courses ***!
