Absolutely and I have shot all my elk with bows in the 50-60lb range with no issues. So you should be good

Whitetails and pigs, plenty. Elk, I would say yes, although, I have never hunted elk. Shot placement is more important than poundage. Another factor would be your setup. What kind of bow do you have and what is your draw length? Also, what arrow are you shooting? By the way, welcome to the site.

No, I would say you won't have any probs with 60 pounds. Good choice on your bow. Good luck and keep us posted.

60 is fine, if kids can kill deer with a youth bow set at 45. You can shoot slap through them with 60.

Plenty. I shoot 60lbs@303fps and have 14 passthrus in a row. My 12 yo had 4 passthrus @40 lbs. with a micro midas. It's all about fixed blades.

Ill get flamed for this but here it goes. Warming: I live on my own land and practice all day everyday out to 90 yards for competitions. And have compete in many.

A deer stepped out across the food plot. My old bow was 60lb draw and I flung a arrow at 84 yards double lunging with the arrow passing right through and I almost didn't find it because it was buried into the ground. So yes 60lbs with good arrow and broadhead will take down elk easy, even moose. Remember older technology was like 40 lbs and a lot slower then modern bows. Mark drury only pulls 55lbs due to a shoulder injury, he's killed some elk sized deer.

I only shoot 58-60 on my bows and have for 9 years. Most of the bows the local shop carriers are 60. 60 is plenty.
