Ive been looking at the no glows or black outs. I already have a bunch of moultries m80xt and have been very impressed with them. The black series seems to only have the black lens on top and i was thinking of making them myself instead of paying the extra 50 for them. Any ideas? Would it even work? Thanks guys
I would imagine if you did, you wouldn't have sufficient light. Most black flash cams compensate for black flash by adding more LEDs. I think someone on chasingame tried it in the past but I don't remember the outcome.
Sure did. Used a piece of laptop privacy screen filter, colored both sides with a permanent marker and cut a small hole for the daylight sensor. From the side those privacy filters really work, total blackout, However, if one looks at it straight on (after using the marker) one can see a really faint glow from about 10 feet. Noticed on my M-80black one can also see a faint glow from close up.
I believe those a polarizing filters. Did it not reduce the flash distance (similar to polarized sun glasses), especially at the edges?
I also seen someone try it on Chasingame and it just made the night time pictures darker. They were messing with different %'s of car window tint I think. Do you run your moultrie xt on 2-3 picture burst mode? My m80x if you run it on 2 picture mode it gets the deers attention, so I just run it on one picture mode and it still gets noticed, but not as bad. Once you try a blackflash camera, you will be hooked on them.
Yes it did photos are not as clear for sure. On the trophycam I made it fit snugly inside the LED window so I can snap it in and out in a few seconds.Used it mostly for security situations.
You can make cameras that "see" very good with light invisible to the eye... but then they suck in the daytime.
