Well, we all know how the first round went. Time for part two... I put two new Monster Raxx licks out today, both in new, heavily traveled areas. I did some trail camera scouting beforehand just to make sure both bucks and does were in the area, and they are. One has regular Monster Raxx with Cherry Attractant, the other is the prototype X version. Only time will tell... Oh and the Covert Red40 and Black60 are armed and ready to go...
I will be honest I am pretty disappointed to see the majority of the mineral on the ground The other sites with Monster Raxx and other products were not getting hit and I was curious if it was the dirt they didn't want to eat or if they did not want to eat any mineral. That is why I wanted it on a stump so we would know what the problem is. Hopefully this will work but my guess it will be the same deal and we still wont know if it is the mineral or dirt
I got as much on the logs as I could. I also made sure that the logs were old enough to absorb the minerals. Not alot of old stumps on my land I discovered. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
Looks good. All I have ever done is to rake it into the ground. No stumps. If they keep hitting it like they have been, I'll soon have another water hole.
I poured the attractent into the spongy logs so it will absorb. Also poured some on the minerals that were on the log to help it absorb in... Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
Hopefully you get better results this time around. Sent from my SGH-T959 using Xparent Green Tapatalk 2
Have you ever had success with minerals? I know mineral sites get tore up on my property but deer won't touch it on my buddies. He has a lot of pics with deer walking right by the minerals but the dont really touch it. Sent from my SGH-T959 using Xparent Green Tapatalk 2
I take some attractant in a water bottle (like 3-4oz) then fill the rest up with water. shake it up real good an pour it all over the mineral site. My best luck yet was right after a good rain cuz it just stayed in a puddle around the stump/ground for the most part.
If no moisture (rain) for a while I'd take some water to the sites, really kicks our sites into gear.
We have torrential downpours and tornadoes right now unfortunately. Hopefully it doesnt wash it all away. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
