Going to the G2G tomorrow and was wondering if any of you Illinois guys can tell me what the laws/rules are concerning carrying my pistol there. I have an Indiana permit but I know some states don't honor it. Any info is appreciated. Blessings.......Pastorjim
Because it is Illinois, they are crazy strict on gun laws, as of right now, no conceal carry in Illinois.
Probably best to leave it at home. The couple of times I have gone to the G2G, I left mine in Georgia.
you can bring it with you if you'd like to visit one of the state's finest accommodations for a few days/year(s). Ask Dawg, he works at one.
federal offence my friend. as my wonderfull gun hating state does not have a CC. but if you must take it i would keep it cased, unloaded, and ammo atleast arms lenght distance away from the gun that is in its case and above all dont let anyone know you got it.
All my family is in Kentucky and when I lived in Iowa I'd drive through IL going back down to visit and I've got my CC and always have a gun with me...I'd forget about it being in my truck until I hit the IL state line then it would dawn on me...You wanna talk about a nervous drive across that state because I never had a case or anything, I'd always just have it loaded and stuck in the center console of my truck. After doing that on accident a couple times I started just putting it in a case in my luggage and leaving the clips in my console.
Thanks to our rediculous state represenatives they now have a 30 day extension to come up with some type of law for CCW and to put it into effect. I have a Utah CCW and i will not be allowed to carry in Illinois once this law is in place unless i take a 16 hour illinois class and pay there fee to have a illinois card due to the fact that there will be no reciprocity in Illinois with other CCW states. What a crock of you know what if you ask me!
http://www.usacarry.com/concealed_carry_permit_reciprocity_maps.html This site has a reciprocity map that shows other states that honor your permit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would just leave it at home.. I don't even like to fly over Illinois... Apparently they want all of their residents to be victims.
