So I have some new neighbors, well, they moved in a few houses down from me, so they aren't exactly my neighbors thankfully. But they are your stereotypical white trash family. I honestly don't know how many people live in the house, as there is always at least 8 cars parked in the driveway, in the yard, or on the street. They leave their garage cans out on the curb all week. They are always outside smoking in either wife beaters or shirtless. They have a pit bull. They built a Bud Light pyramid in the yard, although you can't see it because they don't really mow their yard. Yesterday, there were about 4 fat chicks in bikini tops and cut off shorts with their massive, disgusting muffin tops chilling in the front yard. They have lived in the house for about 2 weeks, and every neighbor I have spoken to has complained about them. They always seem to be home, so I don't know what they do for a living, and I don't know how they can afford the house. I honestly don't understand why anyone like this would move into my boring, old white person neighborhood. Why not buy some land in the country and live a happy hick life if you can afford it? Why destroy a great urban neighborhood?
I don't live in a HOA neighborhood. I could call the city, but like most city governments, they rarely do anything.
Is it a rental? If so, maybe you can give the landlord a call. Are there ordinances for the lawn maintenance/ vehicle parking... etc? If so you can call the city. zoning board. Sounds like renters to me and if so they probably won't be there long...
Property code inspectors are great. If they build a new deck without a permit or out of compliance, call. If they are in violation of the housing occupancy law, call. Etc Etc.
What is wrong with a Bud Light pyramid in the front yard?? Would you be equally as appalled if the pyramid were constructed from craft beer?
From Shreveport Zoning Board's website. Parking in the yard must be constructed for parking, may not take up more than 50% of the front yard and may not exceed 4 vehicles. (In a yard between the residence and the street of any lot zoned as a residential district under the city zoning ordinance, on any area other than a permanent parking area, which is either: a. Asphalt, concrete or other hard surface dustless materials, or b. Clearly defined by side borders of plants, landscape ties, pressure treated wood, brick or concrete or similar border materials. c. No permanent parking area shall exceed 50 percent of the area of the front yard, and not more than four vehicles may be parked therein.
Sounds exactly like my neighbors except they are directly next door. Those people (if you want to call them that) drive me crazy!
I don't see the problem, the people try and bring a little culture into your world and you shut them out? heck invite them over for a beer pong, corn hole round robin tourney and afternoon barbecue, and maybe they'll let you in on the secrets of possum grillin and nutria tail soup! They might even have some suggestion for some great hyphenated kids names that you would never even dreamed of.
I'd say grab a case of brewskies and mowzie on over there and get to know them. They sound like a good time to me
This is the reason our house is on 40 plus ac, I would build a wall around it if it didn't keep the deer out...
The freeedom to live as and where one chooses only goes so far, imho. When someone's life choices affect the quality of life of others (not sure this is quite the case yet given the circumstances in this situation), that's when it's a problem. Hooker, beyond checking with codes, I'm not sure what else can be done.
Hookers more upset and ranting about the image of his neighborhood im sure... Hook, have you met them yet?
