Finally, for the first time, a Super Long Range detection camera, SG968K-10M, is now available on eBay and Amazon. With the following cup size definition of detection ranges (using the formula of 2aR*R/3, where R is the Range at 0 degree, and a is the angle); 1. A Cup: for range of 35- degree x 40 ft; or 400 Square ft of area size. 2. B Cup: for range of 45- degree x 50 ft; or 650 Square ft of area size. 3. C Cup: for ranges of 50- degree x 60 ft; or 1050 Square ft of area size. 4. D Cup: for ranges of 55- degree x 70 ft;or 1550 Square ft of area size; 5. E Cup: for ranges of 60- degree x 80 ft; or 2240 Square ft of Area size; 6. F Cup: for ranges of 65-degree x 90 ft; or 3050 Square ft of Area size; 7. That teacher kept telling us we'd use that math someday....just didn't think it would be on a bowhunting forum!!
Can you explain the cups? Are these fixed and on different models or ??? Please check your PMs as well.
With Bolyguard/Scoutguard, Picture Quality is by default the best, with any model. Daytime picture qualities are all the same, only night time picture qualities are different from model to model due to different technologies and components are used.
Put a $549 Reconyx HC600 to side-to-side comparison with the $299 Scoutguard SG968K, and then you know what is called Bargain, and what is called high quality, high performance. Check the performance comparison: 1. Price: 1.1 Reconyx HC600: $549; 1.2 Scutguard SG968K: $299; 2. Cup Size: 2.1. Reconyx HC600: A/B cup, or 50 ft at 25 degrees; 1.2. SG968K: F/G cup, or 100 ft at 60 degrees; 3. Picture Resolution: 3.1. Reconyx HC600: 3 MP; 3.2. SG968K: 10Mp; 4. Video: 4.1 Reconyx HC600: VGA (?); 4.2 SG968K: 720P HD; 5. Visibility: 5.1 HC600: 15 ft; 5.2. SG968K: 2 ft; 6. Trigger Speed: 6.1. HC600: 0.4 second (2011), 1.0 second (2013); 6.2 SG968K: 1 second but finishes picture taking before HC600 wakes up, due to longer detection range. 7. Size: SG968K is 30% smaller than HC600 in volume; 8. Battery Life: Both are about the same. 9. Flash Range: 9.1 HC600: 40 ft; 9.2 SG968K: 76 ft; 10. Picture Quality: 10.1 HC600: C Grade; 10.2 SG968K: A grade (digital camera quality); You make the judgement and choice.
I forgot to mention, the 2011 HC600 has a FOV of only 45 degree, but the SG968K has a FOV of 52-55 degree, depending on the lens used in production.
sugarcreek could you post some pics to show the camera quality, i think that would be really helpful. thanx
You have a few flaws in your argument. The Reconyx HC600 takes 1080p photos (#3), has a trigger speed of .2 seconds and how does the SG968K having a longer detection range affect trigger speed? Trigger speed is the time from when the camera detects motion until it actually snaps the photo. (#6). The Reconyx also has a flash range of 60 feet (#9), and takes a lot better than C Grade photos (#10). These pictures should help show the quality of the Reconyx. Plus the Reconyx has a rapid fire feature allowing it to take photos with no delay between each picture or burst of pictures.
Ill be the one to say it then....... IMO This seems sketchy! I looked up everythin i can find an all ive gotten was tons of the same duplicated charts. Google brings up maybe 20-25 pics which im sorry do not really have "quality" that makes my jaw drop. example a.)http://www.birding.no/lynx/IMAG0011.JPG example b.)http://image.dhgate.com/albu_249142133_00-1.0x0/4gb-scoutguard-sg580m-sg550m-scouting-trail.jpg example c.)http://www.the-hunting-shop.com/322-thickbox/bolyguard-mg582-8m.jpg Not bashin ya just dont want any newbies or anythin gettin screwed. also IMHO-There are waaaaaaay better cams for a hell of a lot cheaper with customer service an reviews to back em. *cough*Covert*cough**cough*
What you found above are either the 2009 Model or the MMS model that gives only a 640x480 picture in wireless transmission. Go to Chasingame or trailcampro for full resolution pictures. Check here for 2010-2012 picture quality samples: http://www.chasingame.com/index.php?id=288 All Bolyguard/Scoutguard cameras, if using the same platform and LED, have about the same quality. Bolyguard/Scoutguard have switched to a new platform from 2010 that improves picture quality significantly. In addition, the SG968K-10M uses a new HD platform that further boosts picture quality.
You can try the CD/Cup from as low as $0.99: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171034709920?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
