Both of these shoot well for me and I have lots of both. I can't decide which one I want to shoot. Help me decide. I am leaning toward Slick Trick but I did kill a deer last year with the Thunderhead Edge and it did a really good job. I hate being undecided. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Not true at all about the Thunderhead Edges. I shot the Thunderhead Razors (same head without the serrated blades) for 2 years and loved them! They fly great are very durable, (I blew through the front shoulder of a doe at 30 yds with one of these), and they always did a great job at dropping dear. My vote goes to the Edge
Ok we are 1 to 1. You guys sound like me. The Thunderhead Edge the blades screw in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Incorrect. The new model Thunderheads (Edge & Razor) have the blades screwed into the ferrule so they don't come off when unscrewed.
As stated I wasn't sure but I know the old ones did. I noticed a fletching lose on an arrow and thought I'd change it in the stand. Bad idea. One blade fell and never found it. Good thing I did have other arrows with broadheads. One thing I like about the Muzzy's. Once there together the blades can never come out. Slick tricks you need to keep the washer in place but the blades are stronger.
I've used Thunderheads before but I have since moved onto G5 Montec. If I had to I would gladly switch back to Thunderheads since I have some of my old ones still.
Shot killed many an animal with the old thunderheads. The past few years I have killed a bunch with spitfire edges...they kill and kill very quick. If your not worried about resharping blades then the serrated edge is the way to go. The serrated blades leave Nasty wounds with all that surface area...they just bleed incredible. Ask anyone in EMS about trying to staunch a wound from a serrated object... Of the two I would take the thunderhead edge.
That is a tough decision. You really cannot go wrong with either one I shot the original Thunderhead for years, but have been shooting the Slick Trick Magnum now for the last 3 years or so. I like the burlier blades and the fact that the ST is a 4 blade. They both fly really well. All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence; then success is sure - Mark Twain
The new Thunderhead Edge and Razor the blades will not come out when you take them off of your arrow. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I've never shot a Slick Trick before, but I've really enjoyed shooting the Thunderhead Edge. They're a pretty tough little broadhead and fly beautifully. I've killed three deer with them and all died within sight. I usually keep a couple Edge's in my quiver alongside the KillZones.
I'm a Slick Trick shooter... and after being turned onto these BH's have not even thought of shooting any other make.
Switched to Slick Trick Magnums last year and will be shooting them again this year. Either choice will kill deer just fine if you do your part.
I am going to stick with the Slick Trick. The only thing I don't like about them is the steel rusts after a good rain. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Changed my mind I am going with the Thunderheads. NAP has been good to me over the years and I like a aluminum ferule over steel because of the rust factor. I also picked up some Bloodrunner 3 blades and some Spitfires. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
