Just priced out my new rig

Just finished pricing out my new rig. Comes in just around $440, including slings and a stand. It'll be a Bear Encounter. I'll put my whisker biscuit and 5 pin sight I currently have on it. I'll also get an Octane 5" stabalizer and the Pine Ridge Combo Pack, which is the peep sight, string loop and a kisser button. Hopefully I can get it on the way before July

 

sounds like a good plan. I had one of those Octane stabilizers on my old Stinger 3G and it worked great.

Does anyone have a preference to tubed or tubeless peeps? Just a thought after shooting this afternoon. While I'm in the pricing phase.

 

Tubeless, Never have to retube and clip it back on and off again drawma! Pain in the butt if you ask me ,plus you lose 4 fps with the added weight in the tube.

Used $100 gift card and ordered the octane stabilizer, an R.A.D peep sight and the dead down wind grand slam kit

 

I was shooting a Bear Encounter...nice bow for the money. Wanted something longer ATA but I'm keeping the Encounter for sure. How many bows is too many?

 

Don't think there is such thing as too many bows hahaha.

 

After how much I spent on my bow. Im going to try to keep this one for a few years, despite the fact that I want to own several others.

 

That's the reason I'm being as diligent as I am.

 

Just got my stabilizer in last night and installed.

I'll probably install my new peep sight Sunday after I do my fencing

We apply for tags in April and the main draw is in June, the area and time I put in for in all of August or in November

 

So I'm starting to become a little torn... The local shop deals Hoyt, Mathews and PSE. The guy I talked to, the one who isn't condescending, says they can get Bear in. I'm torn between right now the Encounter (the one I shot), the Stinger 3G or the Brute X (I've held both, felt a little lighter than the Encounter, which is important). I know that I can get the money for either and take the time to shoot them, but does any of you guys have a preference?

I have owned a stinger 3G and shot a brute x multiple times. Between those two I like the brute x better. Just seemed to shoot a little better for me. Ultimately the decision is yours though

 

I was just researching both PSE and Bear. I didn't notice that PSE has the multiple adjustment holes. I think that I'll have to try them, but I think that I'm going PSE for my next rig.

And by the way, the Nikon Archer's Choice rangefinder is a great choice....

 

PSE is a good bow, if you like thegrip. I hated it and got rid of my Brute X. Everything else about the bow was pretty good.
