Because i have been trying to put them in my eyes for years, with no success. I got one in, once. Its torture.
I could get them in but couldn't get them out. So I'd end up with them in all day until I wanted to claw my eyes out. I was also wearing the same pair for way past the accepted lifetime. Oops. I only wore them for part of one season. It must have been traumatic for my eyes because they went back to 20/20 after that. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
My son started wearing them when he was 8. He has complained from time to time but has always managed to get it done. sent from my samsung note 2
Wear mine all the time. Have the kind you sleep in. I would like to get lasik someday though Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
I've been wearing contacts for about 16 years now. It's been a daily ritual that doesn't bother me a bit. A few years back, I had a chance at getting Lasik at a heavily discounted price from a reputable doc but decided against it. Not worth the risk to me!
I tried contacts for a week and hated them. I had one irritate my eye and then pop out and land on my cheek while riding my bike down the road. That was fun putting it back in my dried out eye on the side of the road. Can't believe it didn't fly off into forever gone land. I hated putting them in, in the morning too. I'll stick with glasses. They make me look smarter than I am. lol
Tried it once... back in school, They never felt right, couldn't get a routine with them and walking down the hall one day, one just popped out, I never put them back in... I now have gotten to the point where I wear glasses to do just about anything that involves close visual attention... driving, tv, hunting, etc. and I hate it.
This is odd to me so many people couldnt do contacts. I got glasses in 4th grade, contacts in 6th, wore them everyday until I was a sophomore in college. When I got Lasik, now that was the best money ever spent! If you are unsure of if it will work on your prescription or anything, my glasses used to be coke bottles now im 20/20, 20/15.
I tried them years ago. I could get them in and out easy enough, but I could never get used to them being in my eyes. It always felt like sandpaper in my eyes. Luckily, my sight is mot too bad and I only really need my glasses for night driving.
This is how I was. Hunting made me suck it up. I hated my glasses fogging up all the time. Now it's easy as can be. My eyes used to water just watching someone else put contacts in....
Putting contacts in when I was in 5th grade was hard, but I got over it in a few weeks. Now I have laser eye surgery, awesome. I hate glasses
Well, if you're putting your fingers in your eye, you're doing it wrong. Try putting a drop of two of wetting solution on the lens before you put it in your eye. You won't hardly feel it. If your eyes get dry, they can get irritated. Carry a small bottle of artificial tears with you to rewet the lenses. My husband's eyes get very dry. He can only wear one brand of lenses. The others dry out and change shape distorting his vision. The eyedrops are a must for him. If a lens pops out, it means it's dry. I have never had that happen. Neither has my husband and he's been using contacts since back when only the hard acrylic lenses were available. Wetting them before you take them out makes it easier too. May The Sheep Be With You
Also keep in mind different brands of contacts irritate eyes differently. My old monthlies stopped being produced and I had to find a new fit. Some of them really suck
I wear them from 6 am to 11 pm every day, I've been fortunate that they rarely bother me at all. I keep thinking of getting lasix but it just seems to get pushed off every time I start to get serious with it.
I tried wearing one in my left eye for reading only. The doctor said I woud get used to it. It kept falling out without me knowing it until I tried to read. I finally got some bifocals, which isn't much better. Old age kind of blows sometimes but it beats the the alternative I guess.
