Hi all, new here and hope I'm not breaking any forum rules posting a link in here.
I am looking to buy a new climbing stand and was looking at some from Deer Hunter Tree Stands (www.deerhuntertreestands.com) and was wondering if anybody here had any experience with them. I was kind of liking the idea that they are American made and look like they have a decent sized platform plus their listed weight looks good. Just curious if anyone else owns and likes them. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site! Never heard of this brand. From looking at the prices I think I would rather just spend the money on a Lone Wolf. And I am not a fan of buying something that my life relies on over the internet without ever seeing it in person before. Good luck with your purchase.

Thanks for the input, I get what you mean. Mixed bag for me too, that's why I was wondering if anyone had one.

Lone Wolf is typically suggested, but I'll throw my opinion out there and suggest something from Summit. I bought a new Viper last year and was very, very happy with it.

    Summit:
More comfortable, rock solid in a tree. Heavier on your back, noisier.

    LW:
Packs lighter and better than the Summit. Quieter. Less comfortable, less stability.

I wouldn't say less stability. My LW is very solid. I will say the seat isn't the best but im switching that this year. After that it a great stand.

I can't do a fair comparison to other brands as the only climber I've ever used is my Ol'Man Multivision Grande Alumi-Pro. It is an amazing stand in my opinion. Very solid in the tree and lightweight. Versatile in its uses with the front bar that flips up or down to be used as a foot rest or gun rest depending if on what weapon your using. I got mine brand new for $190 shipped to me and couldn't be happier with my decision. Like I said sorry I can't compare it with others and give it a rating that way but its comfortable and I love mine.
Its just another option to throw in the mix. Haha :D

So I'm gathering that LW and Summit are the best all around for the price stands?!?!

I didn't say the LW isn't stable. But the summit is more stable than the LW. I've been up in both and the summit is just rock solid like a hang on stand. With a LW you can still tell you are up in a climber.

I can't say which is better but I will advise if you are a bowhunter... sitting facing the tree is a very limiting way to hunt. I am not sure which stand you are looking at but I would definitely face away from the tree. .02CW

deponds on where your hunting. I own 2 LW climbers and one "x2" stand typically i find myself grabbing the x2 for the simple fact that it is much more light and still very comfortable so i can get deep into the woods without a sore back.

Thanks for the input guys. I was looking at the mid size model. I just found out that my wife's uncle has one he bought years ago and still uses it. He told me today he still uses it over his newer stands. I'll let you guys know if I learn any thing else about the. Ps, all the models except for the lounge can face either the tree or away.

the summit dagger is a great archery stand its super light (not like lonewolf) but still light, and it is an open front stand (or closed if you buy the rail) I give it 5 Stars

Here's some more info to confuse the situation further. http://www.treewalkerstands.com/ I have owned BOTH Lone Wolf and Summits. Both have their advantages and disadvantages but I think they are the top two climbers out there.

Look up http://austintreestands.com/. Best climber I have ever used. The whole concept of sitting on a bar as you climb does not seem safe to me. But to each his own. I have killed many deer from this stand. You can sit facing the tree or away. Just by simply moving the seat. It is versatile and the backseat/rail can be lowered for bowhunting. I hope this help.
