I'm here and my season opens tomorrow, the 16th. It's my first year chasing turkey with a bow. I'll have my blinds set up in a couple of spots this afternoon and will be in there before daylight tomorrow morning. Got these guys to smile for me the other day.
Just Passin Thru checking in. This year is the year I plan to take my first bird. I came real close last year but the shot wasn't there. Unfortunatly my season doesn't start until May 6th- but hey, that means more time to practice! My bullheads should be coming in today and I can't wait to get on those Toms! Im Ready!!
Jwebbmentor checkin in! Can't get out for opening morning tomorrow. Thinking Sunday will be my first hunt of the season. Good luck guys! Can't wait to knock down another Osceola!
Sweet deal! My season begins May 1st, ive got several areas where there are tons of toms theyve been out feeding every day its just a matter of time now!
Have any luck this past weekend? I'm hunting in Wekiva. Went out on Sunday morning with my girlfriend. The Toms were gobblin like crazy on roost, but shut down once they hit the ground. Going back at it on Thursday.
You heard correct! I see the same flock in the morning and evening and i see them not far from other flocks that come out just before a storm. Pretty excited to get some blood drawn!
So far I haven't gotten him within range. He hung up about 80 yards away the other day. I've got him patterned pretty well so it's only a matter of time.
Yeah good luck everybody, the Toms in my neck of the woods are safe until May 6th, after that, its game on!
only about a month left and ive been seeing the same 4-5 toms every day, going to be a great season I can see the beards from 300 yards out! (binos) and Im pretty sure im sitting pretty!
I drew back on what I thought was a gobbler until I saw a 3" beard sticking out. I had him at 7 yards but let him walk. My blood was pumping and my heart was beating out of my chest.
Good luck to you guys! I still have until May 1st, luckily that will give the snow some time to melt so I can actually pattern them, I've got one flock patterned but its my fail safe spot. I try to stay out of there when I can. GOOD LUCK!
I think we need a team name guys. Any ideas? Heres a couple that popped up in my head Widow Makers Beard Busters Tom Topplers
