I just found a used bow on e-bay its a pse , dont remember the exact model # , but its set up for my specs 28" draw & 40-60# with a let off of at least 75 for $250, it's about 5yrs old, is this a good deal
or should I find something a littel newer?
just to mention I'm using an old white tail 2 now.

any suggestions and help would be great

It could be but knowing the model would help. The age isnt an issue. What is the condition. How new is the strings, any sign of cracks in the limbs? Whats the sellers reputation of ebay?

Probably not a deal worth looking at. Just by the age vs price. I just sold a bow that was a 2010 flagship model for 350 with a good rest on it.

So that eBay price is high.

Have you checked out the selection of used bows at your local pro-shop?

Everyone has had a bad experience, they seem to be the ones you remember best. I bought a rifle on gunbroker.com (ebay for guns). Had a nightmare experience. Payed more for repairs than the gun and ended up selling it at a big loss. Point being - if it needs any repairs, bumps it up to a price that makes it a bad deal. Try to buy local so they can stand by it.

Nothing wrong with buying a bow that's older as long as you know the condition and don't have any surprises. In this case a hairline crack that the owner might not even know about could end up costing you a fortune. I am leary about buying a bow online for that reason. I would check local and see what you can find.

Thanks for your input, I'll keep looking

what would be a good price for a used bow that's
around 5-6yrs old or newer just so I have a clue?

I saw some new ones and it's like buying a new Harley ( look but don't touch )
if you know what I mean.. LOL

That totally depends on the brand, model, age and condition. I have a 2007 Hoyt Vectrix for sale right now bow & quiver for $325 which is more then fair. But I have seen other bows from the same year that aren't worth $200. All that matters is what you value it at and are willing to pay. If you come across anything let us know sure everyone here will give you honest opinions.

I would keep looking around. I sold my 2010 Hoyt turbo hawk loaded for 400. perfect condition. 250 for a bow that old isn't a deal in my eyes.

For not much more, you could get a brand new PSE Stinger package, or bare bow to throw your accessories on. Not top of the line, but very good, and warranteed.

The Vectrix mentioned above would be a good deal to jump on.

It is bow, quiver, peep and d-loop. Bow is in excellent shape with new string put on last fall.

i think you could find a newer bow, for that price...and get newer technology(not that that is ancient), and the advancements and performance of a newer bow, would be far superior. just my .02 i have seen brand new 2011 bows, for about 450 still in the shop with the factory warranty. some bows, are more durable and known for less problems...and i like pse, shot them for years, but i dont think i would ever buy a used pse.
