I have had several during the years but the one I stuck with is the Excalibur crossbow. They don't make a more accurite crossbow than excalibur. I had a Phoenix (175 lb) and moved up to the exomax. I suggest going to the Excalibur Forum site and talking to the guys on there to make up your mind. They are a great bunch of people on there and they will guide you in the right dirrection.

I started 13 years ago with a horton 150 lb, really like it. But the past 3 years upgraded to a tenpoint with the crank in the stock. My disabilities have gotten worse and I needed a crank. The tenpoints are very expensive but I had no options. Now I quit altogether because the deer herd in Pa.as been depleteted to the point as a disabled person I cant get to where there might me some left. So I just quit bowhunting. two years ago I spent 400 hours on stand and seen 3 doe,2 which were fawns. I Now hunt WV with a cannon..

I just found this forum. Nice. I have hunted deer, ducks, squirrels and pheasants for 37 years and used bows, shotguns, handguns and adult air rifles. I mostly only hunt whitetails now and will hunt coyotes for the first time this year. I have an Excalibur Ibex and it is a hoot to shoot this thing.

Since I can't pull my compound bow back anymore I'm going to donate it to a needy child hunter and use my crossbow this year. Can't wait for the season!!

I spend most of my time on the Excalibur crossbow forum and Crossbownation.com but like to hear other folks' stories and experiences.

I too am an Excalibur Fan having had a Phoenix for a while before moving on to the Ibex. I wouldn’t own any other crossbow other than an Excalibur. The Excalibur people really, really, bend over backwards to make sure that your satisfied with their product. I joined the Excalibur forum shortly after getting my first Phoenix and really like the people on the forum such as Mike P and Crazy Farmer and even Grizzly Adams with some moderation (LOL). Welcome and hope to talk to you later.

David, I spend half my life on the Excalibur forum:D:D I even joined Vix and Algonquin for the 'just for fun' deer contest. They are a great bunch over there and I learn from them all the time.

Sorry Lscha, I didn't recognize that screen name. I knew you as Ischa on the Excalibur
Forum. Curves with Recurves is the name of your group. Ya'll give'em heck this season.

I use a barnett quad 400 and I love it have yet to harvest a deer with it seeing I've only had it 3 weeks but hopefully that will all change soon. I'd reccomend it. The price is very reasonable

    Another Excalibur fan here.
They are kinda big and unwieldy to carry thru the woods, but the accuracy and ease of maintaining them makes it worth it.

Good to see you Cardeer! This is my 1st post here, I still have my necklace you sent out from that other site.

I also have a Horton 150 with a red dot. I have all the confidence in the world in my bow. 30 yards is the max shot for me. $300.00. It's all you need.
    Good luck
