I am looking into fletching my own arrows and need some advice. I am thinking about getting the Blitzxenburger due to some of the posts on this Forum. What should I get, right or left helical or what ?

I don't think it really matters which helical you go with. I started with a left wing jig because waaaay back in the day someone told me that left-handed shooters should use a left-helical. (which is baloney)

I will say that if you shoot left helical.... your points will often unscrew a little when they hit the target. I constantly have to tighten them back down.

Just get the NAP Quickfletch's and you won't need to get the blitzenburger or glue! I will never fletch that way again!

First let me say it is a BITZENBURGER,not a blitz. Might help you with your google search.

As far as know the Bitz is still the best jig on the market. I would advise going with a right hand helical and a straight clamp. This combo will allow for most any fletching combination you might want to use.Christine touched on the reason for a right. Field point will loosen up regardless of the fletch direction but should be worse with the left. It will also be much easier to find right hand feathers than left as well.

Again tfox hit the nail on the head. The bitzenburger is the best jig on the market except the Aero jig made by firenock but that jig is about $800 wholesale... You need to do some serious fletching to pay for that jig! lol. I would spend the extra few dollars and get both the straight and right helical clamp as tfox said. If you get into it and decide to stick with it the zenith upgrade is also a valuable upgrade worth a look.
