Been looking for my first, in awhile bow. My last compound was a Bear Black Bear from the 80's. Mostly did public land deer hunting with a rifle, and quit bow hunting for awhile. Bought a recurve last summer, injured by elbow so have not shot it much, so recently decided to try compounds again.

So much has changed in that time. Anyway fast forward to yesterday, I bought a 2011 Mission Maniac 60#. I looked at several models and shot some, the Mission line for me seemed right. I think my time with the old double wheels, caused me to not like the modern hump and dump. I like a smooth draw and soft valley. I did like the Elite Hunter, except for a little more hump than I wanted, and the $800 bare price tag. I wanted to try the Martin Bengal Pro, but seems most shops around here within an hours drive only carry Hoyt, Mathews, PSE, Bear, Bowtechs, and Elites. I understand that those brands make up the bulk of the industry, but its hard to find Strothers, Alpine, Athens, etc.

    Happy camper for now.:nana:

Congrats on the new bow! I've heard good things about the Maniac.

    Congrats

I picked the Mission Endeavor. It is also a smooth pull.
That Helim is also a super balanced bow.
