I know I have another post with my deer but I was hoping the new title would help me get some people to try and score my deer. So if you have any idea on the score just let me know. Thanks! Also If you couldn't tell by the picture because it is hard to see the right brow tine is split in two. Thanks again for the help!
I am gonna say no ...kinda hard to tell from the pics but I guessing between 110-115 gross could be way off thou
I agree with everyone else, he's just a bit shy of that mark. Very nice buck though. Blessings.......Pastorjim
thats what i was going to say its not a big deal how big he is, hes a nice semetrical deer be thankful (not saying that you arent)
I was going to say it would be close to 120 also. You have some deductions with the other points that would take from the score. If he was a basic 8 or 10 point he would be better off but with the extra points that comes off score due to not enough for non typical. Where are you located at? I live in Central Illinois and would love to score him for you. I am not a certified scorer but I do know what I am doing. I am gonna be a certified scorer for North America Shed Hunters Club next year. I was scheduled for the clinic this Dec but will be in Florida so I will miss this one. I would love to help you any time I can.
its a great buck but it looks like there would be quite a bit of deductions...but overall a very nice deer
Great buck, but with all the deductions P&Y does yours will get hit some. If it had a touch more mass it'd help but I'm with others mid 110's to low 120's. I judge deer's by their gross score anyways....it's a truer measure of how big the buck is. I've seen some amazing deer simply drop because of deductions. Hence the reason why I support the Safari Club scoring method (just the method not necessarily the club).
Congrats man good looking buck! P&Y is old and out dated, any score the deducts for antler growth is lame. guessing he is 115-120 inch buck... Very good buck!!
Now as to what we are referring to deductions! Here is my buck I shot in December of last year. He grossed 137 1/8 but had a broken right G-3 and a left G-1. There was 3 2/8 difference in the G-1's and then 4 in the G-3's. You take the side to side difference and they have to equal the smaller of the two so with my G-1's at "Right" 5 3/8 inches and then "Left" 1 6/8 inches. That is the 3 2/8 difference that comes off total score at end of totals of both sides. If you type in Pope & Young score sheet will will show you how to score and what you need to score. Hope that helps you out some.
