So I recently saw that the 2012 Wranglers are going to a newer Pentstar engine with close to 300hp and better mileage, so it got me thinking. Do I go back to Jeep for hunting and get rid of the truck? I used to have a 97 Wrangler with 35" tires and that thing got me anywhere I needed to go, I miss that sometimes. I know Crik has been hunting out of a Wrangler Unlimited and I am thinking I might do the same. Anyone with a Jeep regret not having a truck or is the Jeep just a superior ride for hunting in your opinion????

My wife hates my truck and supports me getting a Jeep. What say ye Jeep owners, should I go back to the Jeep??

Only if you get a decal that says, "You wouldn't understand, its a Jeep thing."

If this isn't an option, then I would stick with the truck.

I'm thinking more "its a Vito thing, you couldn't understand" as this would hijack their usual message.

I think having a Jeep would be sweet. If I didn't have to use my truck for work, I would probably have a 5 speed Jeep on 35s :tu:

I like the looks of the new Jeeps, but I've heard one consistent thing about Jeeps from the time I could drive until just the other day. They hit 80,000 and self destruct.

Jason, hey I got your voice mail and will try and call you on way home today,,,power plants are LOUD
I love mine so far,,I wish it got a little better milage but im getting ready to put a chip in it any way to increase milage and power. I hunt with mine but use either a hitch basket or I also have a 5'X8' trailer I use with it. Summer time is FUN with a Jeep. The unlimiteds (hard top model) have a liberty top thats 3 peice. You can take out just the 2 above passenger and driver peices or take the whole top off. I made a T bracket with 3 J hooks that hook to the top of mine, unbolt, lift with winch and drive out from under thats veery handy or you can buy this setup. It takes about 8 minutes. I also bought a mesh screen top that I love when its very sunny. You still get the air but keeps the sun off. (Bad thing) I found out there is some kind of Jeep wave code ethics thingy that I get tired of from other Jeep owners  Kind of like the motorcycle wave thingy! I just heard on the radio this morning about the new line up with the bigger HP. Sounds like they finally figured out that a big Box that catches wind could use more power :tu: Love mine, no regrets!

    Do it!

Buying my CJ made me enjoy driving again. Like when you were 16 and would use any excuse just to drive.

To bad she looks like this at the moment while I track down a new tub.

But hey, she's older than I am, so I guess I can't be too upset.

The wave is a Jeep thing for sure. Only I think it's more like this  not this :dan:
I've found that CJs & MBs always wave. YJs do most of the time. TJs 50% or better. JKs are slightly less. Rarely do I get a wave from cherokees, liberties and the like.

I was behind one coming into work today... the spare tire cover said "HUMMER RECOVERY TEAM" :tu:

It made me miss mine, but I love the space I have in my truck.

Get the jeep! I can take my 01 Wrangler anywhere, including through the woods, which is a blast. I recovered a roadkill the other night and the small doe fit in just fine with no back seat so that probably won't be an issue. The wave is kinda cool at first, then it becomes annoying! :tu:

I'd never own another jeep for my main vehicle for one reason only.... it's a rough ride. They are crap on the open road. Noisy, rough with the narrow wheelbase etc etc. Exterior noise yada yada yada. I'd buy a truck anyday with a towing package. Jeeps are cute, functional off road.... but really a terrible ride for anything more than 30 miles.
