Hello everyone I figured I'd start the team thread I didn't see one posted. My name is Tyler I'm from Pennsylvania, I'll be shed hunting both Pa and Ohio. Hopefully I can contribute some bone to the team last year was a tough one for me, so I'm looking for some redemption. Have quit a few bucks on cam that made it so should make for an exciting shed hunting season. Once everyone is checked in we can choose a team name and captain. Glad to be on a team and looking forward to finding some bone!!

Haven't done well shed hunting in past years but I'm hoping a few more miles on my feet will do the trick. Will be shed hunting mainly in MI around some aggro fields and creek bottoms.

Where do you start, if anywhere, when you go out shed hunting?

My first and only shed was found just a couple weeks prior to our opening day in Michigan this year. I was turning over a field for a food plot and wandered across a matching set, I'm assuming, that looked very old and there was only about 5" to 6" left on each antler.

Most of the time when I go out looking for sheds I will start at our food sources then work my way into thicker travel routes but i feel I need to change my search method.

    That's basically what I do.

It's more enjoyable when someone goes with you too. It keeps you out longer. My wife isn't a hunter but her and the kids will go with me. It helps me put in the miles looking.

I feel like you are doing the right thing. You know they are going from bedding to food source. If that's where they are traveling that's where they'll shed.

I usuallyfind most of my shed in thickets and bedding areas that are around Fields. I have also had great luck on finding them on ridges around bedding areas. They can honesty be anywhere but when I see a brushy field with cover around it my eyes light up haha. I also will walk heavy deer trails all which ways through the woods and usually stumble across a few that way as well.

I have most of my luck between food and bedding, especially in very thick overgrown areas!

Hey guys! Let's get the team capt thing rolling so we can enter numbers in scorecard. I'm putting a vote in for suncrest08 since he started us out. Anyone else?

    Checking in!

I live in GA but will be going up to my leases in Illinois come March. Will also do some shed hunting in Georgia. Can't wait to take my shed hunting black lab for the first time this year too. Got her trained up and she has a pretty good nose.

Does the contest include inches of the sheds or just the amount of sheds?
