Lets get checked in and feel free to introduce your self. Looking forward to get to know you guys!
I picked my first one up on November 4 while tracking a buck for a buddy. It's a old one, but a good one!
Checking in, found this match set on Dec. 23 20 yards off our drive way touching each other while i was on my way out yo hunt this guy.
Nice work guys! I'll be working my tail off to find new property again this year. I imagine I'll be walking a bunch of ground again, so I'm usually good for a few sheds each year.
That's one thing I haven't done is preseason scouting and walking around. I really need to do this! I stick to the same old 3 stands and spots. i dont plant food plots or set feeders out or anything, however there has yet to be a day I've been out and not seen at least 6 deer! I'm blessed to have permission to hunt a local blueberry patch with corn and bean fields surrounding it. But like I said I'd really like to go out and actually scout deeper into the woods and surrounding areas, adjacent field edges all that good stuff...maybe I'll get that giant buck I seen 2 years ago. I picked up a new lease this year, the one I shot my big buck on. Its loaded with little dink bucks! So it should be fun for shed season, just might not find many big sheds there. I say I get about 75% of my sheds off public land, just way more land to walk. My Goals for this year are 1. Try and double my numbers from last year, which is doable with the farm I got this past year. 2. Find the sheds from the buck I shot this year. They may still be out there, and I found were he bedded this year while hunting. 3. Find a shed over 60", have yet to do that! 4. I also found 3 matched sets from the same buck on public land. So I like to find his set as a 4 1/2 year old set this year. He is still alive and has been spotted multiply times. He is still a 8 pt. but pushing close to 140" and I know where he beds, so I have a good chance to find them!
Yeah he went 146" of bone without counting the inside spread. Had him patterned with daylight pics almost daily but the cold weather and snow have them dropping early up here. I have one that looks about like his twin except with no cheaters and as of Dec. 19th he had already dropped his right side.
Matt here from WV looking forward to start shed hunting at the end of the month Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Good start guys! My name is Travis and I'm in SW MN. Had a rough year last year and didn't find a single shed but hoping to work some new ground this spring. Good luck everyone!
Hey everyone. I'm shawn located in central ohio. First time going out shed hunting. Got a couple of weeks left in bow season here in ohio so I'll be in the woods looking each trip out. Good luck guys and I look foward to getting to know everyone. Your friendly neighborhood Bow Hunter
Welcome Guys! Looks like we only need 1 guy to check in and we have a full team! I usually don't start til next month, but couldn't help my self and have been on a couple short walks down the road at some public land. Its just a small walking trial, but they planted clover in with the grass and the deer hit it all winter.
Regardless of how many sheds we find, I like seeing that we already have a talkative group. I think that's just as much fun on these shed/hunting teams on this forum than the actual hunting part of it.
I agree! I love shed hunting almost as much as bow hunting. Its great when you have a active team to share it with.
I would have to agree with you both. I just hope to find at least a couple sheds that I can share with you guys. Your friendly neighborhood Bow Hunter
