sheds and sunglasses

Has anyone experimented which color or tint on sunglasses helps to see shed antlers better?

 

I have tried the yellow tinted "shooting" style vs the regular tinted sunglasses (both Nemesis brand safety glasses), and I couldn't tell a difference on the way sheds showed up.

 

Interesting question. I was actually wondering this same thing last weekend when I got out for a few short miles.

 

I just make sure they are polarized. usually fishing glasses.

 

If sunny I wear polarized sunglasses, I usually try to go out when it's overcast and rainy or wet ground conditions, sheds stick out soo good in those conditions IMO.

 

I have had good luck on sunny days, but I dont use sun glasses. Must keep the sun to your back. Never felt like glasses helped, those small dark shaded areas that sheds like hide, you will never find them with sun glasses on.

I totally agree with sun at your back, it makes a very big difference.

 

Wonder if there is such a thing as clear polarized glasses? lol

 

x2,i do that as well. usually wear my glasses in the open areas and take them off in the wooded areas since it is already kind of shaded.

 

I have ehard the same thing about overcast or rainy days. I also heard that light snow on the ground makes them stand out.

 

I just use some polarized fishing glasses with grey lenses

 

Red tinted sunglasses

 

Polarized or violet works best. Yellow would be blinding in most cases!!!

 

Went shed hunting with polarized smoke tint and brown color sunglasses from btbsunglasses.com (awesome pair of glasses by the way, clarity and comfortable is excellent no more convenience store glasses ever!!) Conclusion I came to was that a smoke tint works the best because they create a much more natural look. Sun at your back is also great idea to try and have.

 

Oakley has a lense that really shows a lot of color and brightens your surroundings, I lost my pair in the field last year

 

Get another pair and head back to the same area and maybe you'll find them

 

Im actually waiting for spring hoping the dead grass will make it easier, they're camo frames though

 

Should be worth going back to look for a pair of Oakley’s may find a couple of sheds as well, however sunglasses are made to be lost and is the main reason I wouldn't buy Oakley’s ( probably pay 50% just for the name anyways) For the price of 1 Oakley I can buy 3 pairs from BTB.

 

Very true Oakley is name driven but, I had the same pair for 4 years for one reason alone, I liked them that much! Comfort, Quality, Clarity that you may or may not get with the throw aways. Oakley pricing ranges from $40 to $400, or you can be like me and know a guy
