Who is ready to get out there and start looking for some sheds!!? We still have about 1 to 1 1/2 months until they start dropping here but I can't wait!
Kinda strange how this year in Wisconsin we have a 1.5 year old buck that has already shed 1 side and I was also talking to one of my wife's co-workers and he shot a 130 class buck opening day and both antlers popped off when he hit the ground. I guess he had a hard rut? I won't be looking until probably late February or March unless cameras tell me otherwise.
Some deer shed early. Or maybe they were injured? It was around 0 degrees for the last 2 weeks in November here but in December it has been in the 40-50s. Hopefully we get some cold temps and maybe snow soon.
I wont start looking until late feb/ early march but i am looking forward to hunting something other than deer after the extremely slow season i had.
I cant wait to get out! I need to order new boots, I like to get them early so I can break them in while shed hunting and use them next hunting season. I also picked up a pair of Duluth trading company pants, they call them Briar pants. They have extra thick chaps sewn in to the front of the pants for pushing thru briar thickets. Cant wait to try them out this year!
I hope you do too. What did you find, like 117? I'm gonna try and raise the bar a little bit this year and try to hit 50. I met my goal of 40 last year, so maybe upping it will push me a little harder.
Got out this afternoon for a quick scout, and found my first dead head of the year. After that I couldn't stop looking for old sheds!
