This was my first year in the shed contest and had a great time. Being in the contest brought out my competitive side and made me want to get out there and look for more sheds. Last year I found 7 and I want to beat that, so this year I had my best year yet with over 20. I found a couple matched sets and one of the sets were laying together in a bed. My best find was a shed from a 5 year old buck I shot in 2012, and it was his shed as a 4 year old and was laying there for 3years and I never found it. So if you have a pic with your total Haul for the year, post them up. DSCF3140.jpg

I had a very solid year and found several matched sets from bucks I had pics of. It's hard to tell from the picture, but there are 40 or so sheds in this box from this year.

This year was my first year shed hunting. Put on a ton of miles, explored a few new areas, learned a lot of new things and was pretty happy with the results for year 1.

Some nice ones in there, and that's a lot of sheds for your first year. I think my first year really looking I only found 1 or 2.

This was my first year shed hunt. Only was able to get out a hand full of times. Can't wait until next shed season!

Man I wish I could find half as much as you guys haha. I found 3 this year, which exactly doubled the total I have found my whole life. I put a lot of miles in too...not sure why I never find em. Did find a sick match set this year, will post pics when I load them on the computer.

Hang in there, its like every one says you have to put in a ton of miles. I walked a lot of places this year 2 or 3 times and still found sheds in those places. The more you do it the easier it is to see them, it just takes time.

How very neat! I've never found a shed before! Besides walking the woods multiple times is there a trick to it? Having my own property this shed season, I'd love to try and search!

Shed hunting is a great way to learn your property and where deer travel and feel most safe during the off season. Bedding areas and travel areas (to and from bedding/feed) is where I have my best luck. But i've found them just wondering through the woods as well. Good luck this season!

Took a walk around the property on Sunday and found a full skeleton 4 point, first shed/deer find ever. Cant wait for some sheds this year, already dropping in MI!

Congrats on the find, shed hunting can be really fun and frustrating. I am already pumped to start looking this year, but I don't start til February.

That's crazy they are already dropping. I wish that they would be here. I'm ready to get out and find some sheds. I'm starting to think that I like shed hunting as much as actually hunting. Sure is a lot cheaper anyways.

This year was a slow one for me! I found 19 and did not do a group photo but I got my best ever shed this year and hope to find same side this! Plus here is a buck I hope to kill but if I cant I want both sheds!
