Well this year I have 3 different parts to my shed trap.

The 1st is I put up a 20 yard by 15 yard 2 strand wire fence up around my feeding area. So when the deer go under it or over it their antlers might fall off.

The 2nd is what is in the pics, it's my old shed trap turned over and I put 3 bungee cords on each side. Hopefully they bump their antlers on the cords when they stick their head in to eat.

The 3rd part is I dug a 1 foot deep hole, set some pieces of wood around it and filled it with corn, I'm hoping when the buck sticks his head down into the hole his antlers hit the ground and maybe get nocked off.

This is my 3rd year using a shed trap and I haven't got one with it yet but hopefully this works!!!

My friend set up his own shed trap this afternoon, what happens if the deer becomes entangled in the trap?

I would be surprised if that happened, deer are smart animals and they know how big and where their rack is, I put the bungees far enough apart that they can get their head in and out easily.
