Almost had a coyote. Was at full draw and waited to long. I wanted to see if he would attack the decoy. He caught my scent trail and bailed at about 30 yards.
Nice work Greg.
Last night was windy as expected. Saw some birds on neighbors. The toms were with hens I couldn't get them to break away. Deer were surrounding my decoy. That didn't help me at all. Hard to move or...
Just a quick picture to show that he isn't stuck in garage. Office it is.
Nice day out. Windy still. Can't wait for another night. I'm too much like a little kid when it comes to season openers. I'm getting out tonight to see what I can see. Not a great night for calling...
Got ya. Just didn't understand the terminology. Makes sense to me.
Could you tell me more about what you mean here? Thanks
I would go back to shooting at the 40 again. Meaning....try it again a different day to make sure it is consistent. Shoot your first shots at 40 while you are fresh. No fatigue in case you were...
Lot of kids getting a head start this weekend with the jelly necks. Perfect day out. Kids should have good success this weekend if someone puts them in a good spot.
Season starts Monday for me....
Seen 4 toms out driving around yesterday. Burned off a food plot of ours Monday and heard a hen and gobbler getting worked up while I was burning the 2 acre plot. That is where I'll be hunting next...
This might explain it better.
With a lower draw weight and even at higher draw weights a fixed broadhead will have more penetration power than a mechanical will.
Checking in. I'll start chasing them April 13.
Got married last year. Best gift was a dave smith turkey decoy that I've been itching to try.
Lots of turkeys around my area.
Hung up in garage until next week. Need to show some family over Easter at our place. Then it heads to the office.
Got in 4 miles running last night. Been in gym mostly. Nice to get outside. Much easier on my knees running on trails. Only 5 months away for elk for me. Not that I'm counting.
Looks good. I've always been told anything can taste good if you know how to prepare it. Looks like it was your first time in a kitchen. Ha.
Alternate if needed. Thanks
I think it depends a lot on hunting area. Do you have your own land to hunt or are you hunting public in regards to big deer? I'm lucky to have private land to hunt and I think that makes it ten...
Been running intervals and lifting weights. Was in Idaho elk hunting two years ago and was in a lot better shape. I was 210 at the end of that trip and started this February at 255. Down about 10...
Nice pics. Never caught this thread before. Worth people seeing first time or for a second time.
Just a heads up. Camofire.com has a sale on icebreaker merino wool in camo. I don't have any of their products, but have heard they are good. I ordered top and bottom. They will probably go fast.
Always like the variety of critters. The ducks are cool.
I heard all of Team 4's deer were high fence deer. Heard it from the internet which is usually always right. Just kidding.
Congrats Team 4. Bring on the Thunder Chickens.
I believe that is the unit we went to. Is it southwest of Gillette? I have a wyoming state map chip that shows names of landowners if you are interested. I probably won't use it again. Idaho and...
