Just wanted to say hello, new to this site and bow hunting. My son and I are just getting into bow hunting, I am 40 and he will be 14 in may. I have rifle hunted in new Jersey when I was about 12 until 18 when I joined the army in 95 and haven't hunted since. I currently live in Chesapeake, VA and it's like starting from scratch and I have to teach my son so this should be interesting. I'm going to be asking alot of questions so I hope yall don't get annoyed easily haha.
Ask away. I also picked up bowhunting/archery when I was 40 (about 25 years late). There are a lot of great people here willing to share their knowledge and experience. Just remember to stick around after you learn a thing or two and pay it forward. Sent from my VS500 using Tapatalk
Welcome to the family! Try to buy local or close by where u can hold it and try it out. Some people sell things online saying “great condition” and it's a piece of junk. Sent from my KYOCERA-C6745 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

I plan to be in the stand with my 14 year old son this year. I'm hoping to film his first buck kill and enjoy some quality father son time. Good luck out there.
It's a great forum and everyone here has a opinion and they're all correct ( just ask them ). But in all seriousness it's a great place and has taught me loads. Welcome!!!
Welcome aboard to a Commonwealth neighbor. Great memories are about to be made...not only is archery a rewarding pastime...it's double rewarding when you can spend it with one of the kids.
you're never too old to learn new things and never too young to start learning! bowhunting is ever changing and improving and only the ones that want to remain successful and to continue to find enjoyment need to continue to educate themselves and be willing to learn new things with an open mindset. everyone has their own opinions on preferences on hunting subjects so I suggest listening to everything you can and act like a sponge absorbing all the knowledge you can. watch as much BHOD as you can and you will learn a lot for sure and reading these forums. best of luck.
Welcome. I started bowhunting at 39. My oldest is now 17 and hunts on his own. We have made some great memories in the stand together.
