MmmHello everyone, First off thanks for the time to read this post. I'm new to bow hunting and hunting in general and would like to know if there are any bow hunting clubs or groups in Orange County, .CA. if not are there any bow hunters willing to take the time to help a brother out and learn the awesome sport. Really interested have been wanting to do this for a long time know that most hunting is closed this time of year but would like to get ready for the next season. I've already taken hunters safety and just need to learn the ways. Thank you so much for your time!
Try to find the good bow shop with knowledgeable archers to help get you set up properly and get you shooting correctly. After that its all practice and preference.
Welcome to the sport and to the forum. Practice, practice, practice! Discipline and practice is the key to be a good bow hunter.
Welcome to the greatest sport on earth!!! I would start at a local pro shop as mentioned above. In addition I would ask them about local 3D shoots going on. 3D is a great way to meet fellow archers and to practice in hunting situations. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
When the season rolls around the two big things I can say is don't become discouraged if it doesn't happen, a lot of people who don't know hunting think we harvest an animal every time we go out but that is far from the truth. And the second thing that goes along with that is have patience it can happen at any time and sometimes takes more than one season to understand how to set up for success. And one final thing if you think a shot looks hard to make but you think you can do it DON'T because it is a real gut wrencher to wound an animal and not be able to recover it. Good luck!! Happy hunting and welcome to a family that can help you out with any questions you have
Find a good hunting partner, Sharing the good and bad is a Yuge part of the sport ! having a partner makes practice much more fun also, can be a fun competition
Welcome to bowhunting! I am an OC native, but didn't get into hunting until moving out to Georgia. My advice would be checking out the closest spots where there is public land to hunt (which I would assume is not close) and start scouting. Scouting has become almost as fun as hunting for me, which is also part of learning the sport. Good luck to you and be willing to travel!
Check out ORONCO (Orange County bowman). Bunch of great folks. Hunters and target archers alike. Great facility. Local shop is Hitech archery in fullerton. Welcome to the addiction!!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
