Ok I had a gut shot last night right about sunset. She dropped right where I hit her. Waited about 15 and came out of the stand. As we came down she jumped up and ran away. I actually thought it was another deer until we came to her drop spot and she was gone! Anyway, saw a tinge of green in the blood so figured a gut hit and backed out. Since it was in the 20's last night here I decided to wait until light to look for her. Found her frozen this morning and gutted her. I'm just wondering it was about 14 hours until I gutted. The processor told me the meat is fine. What do you guys think? I never left one this long.
As cold as the temps was, I believe you should be fine I usually hang my deer for a couple days when possible and time permits in a building that is round 35 to 40 when it's warmer than 50 outside I don't like to hang them outside due to animals getting into it Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Ok for what it is worth, we processed and already consumed some of her. So far we haven't died so I'm calling it good. Thanks for the input folks! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
